Clone Trooper Reporting for Duty

| | Comments (0)

Here's Finn's 2008 Halloween costume. He wasn't sure he would like it, though he was pretty patient with the paper pattern fittings, but once it was altogether and we had a mirror he decided he liked it very much. Much thanks to http://tk409.com.

This was about $70 of materials (if you count all the different glues and scissors I bought) and about 5 nights of work. I tried to go for a screen accurate clone trooper - we have dozens scattered around the house and neither boy is without one in their hand for long. But you know the clone troopers in the movies were always fully CGI - there was never a real clone suit ever created. So it turns out they cheat a lot around the waist and thighs - no human being could actually move or turn in that suit. So I kinda reverted to the original stormtrooper in those places because at least those were real actors with real plastic who still wanted to bear children someday.
