I forgot to tell you that Finnegan climbed all the way up the basement stairs this morning. I was cleaning when I noticed that he had climbed two stairs, so I got behind him to find out how far he could go. He went all the way up slow, but steady. When he reached the landing he sat down and flashed me a big smile and then went and banged on the baby gate to get into the kitchen. We'll have to videotape him when we are together. I really don't want to encourage him to climb the stairs, but it was pretty impressive.
This morning I was cleaning in the basement when I noticed that Finnegan had climbed up two of the carpeted basement stairs, so I got behind him to find out how far he could go.
Slowly he ascended the stairs, one be one without hesitation. I was amazed at his surefootedness and arm strength.
When he reached the top of the stairs and the landing he sat down and flashed me a big smile and proceeded to bang on the baby gate to get into the kitchen. I was thrilled and frightened all at the same time. It's amazing how I want to cheer him on and fear for his safety at the same time.
We will definitely videotape his Spiderman activities when Doug and I are together. I really don't want to encourage him to climb the stairs, but he was pretty impressive!
