Well we were all afraid that there would be no one to help us with our
baby, being without any family out here in Seattle. And now my only
trouble is figuring out where to put them all. Dad is coming now too
and he'll be here on Tuesday the 17th to help us with all the tiling,
molding, painting, packing and cleaning, in our old house. That will
be over the week of our move too. Some time here I have to write a bit
about the new house!
This trip will overlap with Maryann by about 2 days, so we'll have to figure something out for that time. We don't have much furniture left!

Today I have been at Amazon for 6 years. There is no special prize for
this day (like there was at 5 years). There are 290 people who were
hired before me still here (out of many many thousands employed now).
But it sure feels like they've all left.

I think it's safe to say I'm going to break this news on my blog before
Maryann does on hers :)
Maryann will be coming out to visit us! She's going to stay at our new house (did I write about our new house yet? - uhoh) which is actually smaller than our current one but we'll all be cozy snug in there. I'm sure she's got lots of business to do on her own but we're also really looking forward to the help getting ready for the baby. Even just someone to, say, move a box from here to there now that Nancy is getting big enough to not be able to do things like that. We are really excited! and I know Maryann will love our new location. This is just the right time when we can really use some family help too.
Now, this doesn't mean that everybody has to Drop Everything for the "Mandatory Attendance" and "Required Visits" that seem to occur when someone flies out. It's okay for us to have a bilateral relationship! She probably won't have time to visit "All Treders Who Live Within A 100 Mile Radius" and we certainly won't have room for more visitors in our new house (there's only three bedrooms and one is going to be an office). When the baby is born we will have a big party, either at Thanksgiving, Christmastime, or early January, and everyone can come visit at once then and we will do all the mandatory rounds.
Here's the flight schedule, just in case we lose the paperwork:
