Downtown Seattle

This is where the carriages line up to take people on rides through the decorated streets of Seattle.

The Bon Star

Three wise men looking for the star. The wise man on the right is actually a homeless person from downtown. Oops! Sorry it's Barb disguised at Ahmed Kharzi.

Posing with Ponies

We were down at Westlake Center with the big Carousel that I just love and there we were posing with "Ponies on Parade." The ponies are donated by various Seattle businesses as part of a charitable donation. There were some really beautiful pieces on display.

Candy Time!

Doug is in his element. He loves buttered popcorn flavored Jelly Bellies, root beer flavored gummy cokes and chocolate malted balls. Willie Wonka would be so Jealous!

The sun finally came out after days of rain.

Doug tries too

This was the day after Christmas and we went to Seattle Center to take in the sights.

French Fries

Rob tries to move the tall french fries at Seattle Center. These ribbons of metal are about 14 feet tall and they look like french fries.

Bathtime is over

Trying out his new toys

Finnegan is testing our his new play mat.

What is it?

| | Comments (0)

We were preparing Christmas dinner when we discovered that one of the yams looked like a baby. Nobody wanted to pose with the little creature. Barb thought it looked like a baby walrus, Rob said a baby seal, I thought it looked like a baby duck and Doug just thought it looked good enough to eat. He loves yams!

Pacifying Finnegan

She keeps sticking this pacifier in my mouth and all I want to do is scream!

Picture time!

He's learning to pose for the camera.

Aunt Barbara

Aunt Barbara is not too hip on changing diapers, but she loves to hold Finnegan.

Opening his first gift

| | Comments (0)

Okay, so he really doesn't know what's going on, but we had to show you his first gift. It's a little play gym.

Even Spoon got something

| | Comments (0)

Finnegan found this great doggie chew where you can hide a treat inside for Spoon and he loves it.

Another gift from Finnegan

Uncle Rob got a great book. Finnegan just knows how to select the perfect gift.

Aunt Barbara got some pants.

Laughing Boy

Grandma is so funny!

| | Comments (0)

Finnegan and Grandma Terry share some laughs at the end of her two-week visit. Finnegan would actually talk (babble) with his Grandma. She knows how to make him laugh.

Monkey shines

Finnegan smiles just before he falls asleep and then continues to smile during his sleep. He just might be the happiest baby in our house!

Grandmatime with Finnegan

When mom arrived she couldn't wait to hold Finnegan. We had to slow her down when she started undoing the buckles on his babyseat, but it all worked out. Here he is with Grandma Tere.

Besa me mucho!

That's spanish for "kiss me a lot." Of course, we do.

Happy boy!

Finnegan and Daddy getting ready for long Winter's nap

Like father like son.

Getting ready for bed

| | Comments (0)

Part of getting ready for bed is the ritual burping process.

Burping the baby

| | Comments (0)

Finnegan looks pretty big here, but he's actually quite small when compared to Doug's hand. You should how loud his burps are. One time he burped so loud that his lips vibrated! I was amazed that such a big burp could come from such a little guy.

Just washing the dishes

| | Comments (0)

It's nice to now have a double sink so we can wash the baby too. Finn doesn't mind the bath too much as long as the water is the right temperature. When he stretches out (startling) his long arms and legs, you can see the little boy inside.

A little bigger every day

| | Comments (0)

He's starting to look a little different than he did as a newborn. His features are coming out. I think this picture is right after Finn showed me how he can hit the wall opposite the changing table when his diaper's off...so now it's bath time.

Banana Boy

| | Comments (0)

This yellow outfit looked pretty silly until we put on the sweater that Aunt Carrie made for him. Now he's super-cute! the bear ears on the hat help too. He is toasty warm with his sweater on.

Surprise Daddy!

Finn demonstrated his long-range candle-snuffing ability while on the changing table. Now we have to treat him like he's always loaded and ready to fire.

A visit from Jessica

| | Comments (0)

Jessica Graybill came by and brought us so much great stuff! She gave Finn some new clothes (so he doesn't have to be yellow banana boy all the time), some soothies for Nancy. We also got to visit with Ian who is only three months older but SO much bigger. I found out she had handmade the swaddling blankets that have turned out to be our favorites because they are so big.

She also gave us some great meals - a really wonderful simmered chicken and her world-famous mac&cheese (I'm serious - it's got spices, bread crumbs - it's a happy day at Amazon when Jules brings in the homemade mac&cheese).

Jessica has been so kind and such a good friend. I hope we can help her as much when she has to go back to work in a few weeks.
