Finding his appetite

To our surprise, Finnegan is beginning to broaden his culinary palette.

I have been worrying about his eating habits for a long time because for a while all he would eat was dairy products and fruit. I was afraid that he wasn't getting enough nutrition.

He's been a skinny kid and I have secret fears that I've not been feeding him properly and it's stunting his growth. Fortunately, several other mothers have assured me that their child went through the same phase. Whew! It's a phase and Finnegan is starting to move out of it.

This week he has enjoyed eating steak, chicken, sloppy joes and he loves hard boiled eggs. He especially likes to color the eggs and then select a different color at each meal.

Finn eats chicken finally! At the May Thai restaurant on 45th with Grandpa.

Like mama like son.

He really did take a bite!

The other thing that he likes is LIfe cereal and it's his snack of choice. He eats it first thing in the morning, after he comes home from school and as an evening snack before going to bed. With a glass of warm milk it's the perfect snack for a night of restful sleep, not just for him, but for me too.

Now my mission each day is to cook a kid tasty meal that Finnegan will enjoy as well as Doug and that can be a challenge. Fortunately, things are looking up and Finnegan is eating a larger variety of food that he claims is, "mm tasty."
