Fourth month vaccinations

Today we went to see Betsy Ormond at Wallingford pediatrics and she is excellent. She told me that Finnegan is in the 50th percentile for height, weight and head circumference.

Finnegan weights 14.86 pounds and is 24.5 inches long. He has very good response to being pulled up into the sitting position, he notices objects other than faces and babbles and gurgles right on schedule. He's also got some strong legs which the nurse discovered when giving him his vaccinations. Poor Finnegan put up a fight on the second and third shot and she had to stick his outstretched and tensed legs pushing against her stomach. That was two-and-a-half hours ago and he's feeling fairly well due to the baby Tylenol which I gave to him before his shot. Doug doesn't like to medicate, but I can't stand to see Finnegan in pain. Besides, the sooner his pain is gone the sooner he can get back to learning new things.

The only thing wrong with Finnegan is that he has Eczema and a good case of it. He's had it since he was two months old. His cradle cap is getting much better, but the eczema is still here. Betsy thinks it's a food allergy, something I'm eating. So next week I have to stop eating dairy for two weeks and see if it clears up. I'm also going to give up chocolate which will be hard, but it's for the best.

It was a good pediatric visit and the next one is on May 16th when Finnegan will be six months old. He's growing so fast!
